Our Vision
Vibrant Communities, Vibrant Competitions
Indian migrants have lived in New Zealand for over 100 years. From humble beginnings the Indian population of New Zealand has grown to over 150,000. Since 1962 NZISA has grown to cater to a range of people throughout the Indian community.
Our aim is to celebrate our unique and vibrant heritage by connecting Kiwi-Indians through a love of sport. We run a range of sporting events from social to competitive and junior to masters with an emphasis on connecting our Indian communities located around the country.
Over the years our sporting community has evolved and as an organisation we continue to develop, however, our primary goals remain the same which are guided by our core values:
Pride - In our heritage and homes
Community - Building connections and friendships
Passion - Dedication and commitment to success
Sportsmanship - Competitiveness without arrogance
Integrity - Transparent processes and management.
Strategic Plan
Adopted in 2017 our Strategic Plan lays out NZISA’s intended path moving forward. It focuses on three areas, each with their own key sub goals:
Grow Our Community
Increase participation across all levels and a range of sports
Promote and recognise our sports people
Raise the profile of the NZISA.
Create Quality Events and Experiences
Develop a range of experiences which caters to all levels of participation
Develop the capability of our volunteers to run our events
Incorporate our culture into our events
Market our events to promote their growth.
Strengthen Our Organisation
Review our structure to ensure it is meeting our potential and objectives
Implement Health and Safety processes to meet our obligations
Diversify our income streams to ensure financial stability.
