The following clubs are affiliated members of NZISA.
AUCKLAND INDIAN SPORTS CLUB INC.
AISC has a long and proud history with the Auckland Indian community since it was established in 1936 which was brought about by sports minded members of the community. Today the club excels in hockey and cricket in various grades and ages, in addition to having a successful junior programme. AISC partake regularly in NZISA events and have teams in U23 and QBT hockey, netball and golf.
BAY OF PLENTY INDIAN SPORTS CLUB INC.
BOPISC was formed in 1958 offering sporting opportunities to the community. The club excels and is well represented in both hockey and cricket in their local competitions, in addition to the NZISA Cricket Tournament where they have great success in recent years. The club are also a regular entrants at QBT with both Men’s and Women’s hockey teams.
CENTRAL DISTRICTS INDIAN SPORTS CLUB INC.
Formed in 1982 CDISC has members from across the lower North Island covering an area stretching from Hawkes Bay across to Taranaki and stretching south to Kapiti-Horowhenua and the Wairarapa. Centering largely around Palmerston North the club has members participating in cricket, golf and hockey and are active with a team at QBT and younger members partaking in U23 hockey tournaments.
CHRISTCHURCH INDIAN SPORTS CLUB
CISC’s interest in sport started with hockey in 1936. Those initial years of the club gave the opportunity for young Indian men to enjoy each others company over sport. Over the years the club has engaged in many more sporting disciplines from cricket, netball and golf just to name a few. Today the main sport is still hockey, with CISC partaking in QBT hockey, T&G hockey and golf.
NORTH HARBOUR INDIAN SPORTS CLUB INC.
The youngest of our eight member clubs, NHISC was born in 1989 as the shape of Auckland changed and expanded. As its name suggests, it covers an area north of the Harbour Bridge. It has regular teams in the North Harbour hockey competitions as well as members who participate in golf and netball events. North Harbour are active within NZISA by partaking in both Men’s and Women’s QBT hockey and the Golf Open.
PUKEKOHE INDIAN SPORTS CLUB
Formed in 1945 PISC is the premier sporting club in Counties Manukau with over 350 members, most of whom reside in the Pukekohe and South Auckland region. The major sport played is hockey with Men’s, Women’s and Junior teams participating in the Counties Manukau competition, the Midlands Intercity competition and NZISA events. The club also participates in cricket and golf along with a number of community sporting events.
WAIKATO INDIAN SPORTS CLUB
From its inception in 1954 WaikISC has provided a uniting point for the regions widely dispersed Indian community. Based mostly in Hamilton, the club is a consistent entrant in NZISA events. Their forte has been hockey and netball at QBT for a number of years, being regular winners of the netball trophy. Waikato are also regulars at the NZISA cricket tournament. The club hosts regular community events and invite new members to join their club.
WELLINGTON INDIAN SPORTS CLUB INC.
WISC was founded in 1935. From humble beginnings WISC has continued to evolve as a club and have had many successes along the way. Their main objective is to provide recreational and sporting opportunities to its members in the Wellington region. Their focus has primarily been on hockey, both Men’s and Women’s, along with a strong number of cricket teams and a good number of golfers within their club.
